Danute Mikalcius has her own practice in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine, working out of offices in Lake Zurich and Lake Forest, Illinois.  She treats a variety of problems including allergies and auto-immune diseases.

In private practice since 1999, Mikalcius prides herself on her ability to look at the whole person, including both the physical and emotional aspects of each, and to tie everything together into a comprehensive picture.  She is known for the thoroughness with which she investigates each complaint and the care with which she determines the correct course of treatment.  This attention to each individual patients has caused her practice to grow quickly.

She finished Midwest College of Oriental Medicine and has studied with some of the best known practitioners in the field, earning a certificate in allergy elimination techniques from Dr. Devi Hambudripad, a certificate in the treatment of autoimmune diseases from Jaffe and Meldor, a certificate from Donna Eden in energy medicine, and a certificate in neuromodulation techniques from Dr. Leslie Feinber's NMT program.  With this background, she is able to use whatever is most appropriate for each patient.

A native of Lithuania, she speaks three languages fluently and has traveled extensively.  Her natural ability to make her patients feel comfortable with her, as well as her obvious enjoyment of patient interaction, has allowed Mikalcius to have the successful practice that she enjoys today.
